Messages

Messages components are used to display FacesMessages.

Messages Tag Documentation

Messages is a pre-skinned extended version of the standard Faces messages component with extensions.

Name	Type	Required	Default	Description
id	String	false	generated	Unique identifier of the component in a namingContainer.
rendered	boolean	false	true	Boolean value to specify the rendering of the component, when set to false component will not be rendered.
binding	UIComponent	false	generated	An EL expression referring to a server side UIComponent instance in a backing bean.
widgetVar	String	false	generated ('widget_' + componentClientId)	Name of the client side widget.
closable	boolean	false	false	Adds a close icon to hide the messages.
escape	boolean	false	true	Defines whether html would be escaped or not.
for	String	false		Identifier of the component whose messages to display only, takes precendence when used with globalOnly.
forIgnores	String	false		Defines a list of keys and clientIds, which should NOT be rendered by this component. Separated by space or comma.
forType	String	false		Type of the "for" attribute. Valid values are "key" and "expression".
globalOnly	boolean	false	false	When true, only facesmessages with no clientIds are displayed.
redisplay	boolean	false	true	Defines if already rendered messages should be displayed.
severity	String	false		Comma separated list of severities to display only.
showDetail	boolean	false	false	Specifies if the detail of the FacesMessage should be displayed.
showIcon	boolean	false	true	Defines if severity icons would be displayed.
showSummary	boolean	false	true	Specifies if the summary of the FacesMessage should be displayed.
skipDetailIfEqualsSummary	boolean	false	false	Defines if rendering of the detail text should be skipped, if the detail and summary are equals.
style	String	false		Inline style of the component.
styleClass	String	false		Style class of the component.
